The Fur-Trimmed Coat Hood: Real or Faux Fur?
Posted: Jan 13 2013
When deciding on a men’s or women’s coat this winter, one of the things you’ll need to think about is whether or not you want a fur-trimmed hood on the coat.
The fur-trimmed coat has been very popular over the last few years for both women and the more daring fashionable men. It is associated with glamour and luxury on all levels of the fashion spectrum, and therefore the fur-trimmed hood is easy to come by at a variety of retailers and on through the fashion ranks to even the most luxurious of design houses.
How, then, should you choose whether or not you want a fur-lined hood or a hood without fur lining on your next winter coat?
1. Decide by price. Of course, your pocketbook or wallet might be a determining factor. Real fur is going to be much more expensive than faux fur, which is man-made and which does not take as long to process and prepare as real fur.
2. Decide by conscience. It is likely that some among you might be moved by your conscience to go for faux fur instead of real fur. That’s an important determination you should definitely think about to avoid feeling sorry about something later!
3. Decide by thinking about how much you want to take care of the garment. Real fur is beautiful, but it’s not always the most practical of fashion materials. It can be damaged if it’s wet outside, and if you’re a lady you’re going to want to make sure you don’t spray it with hair products or perfume. Whatever you choose, we’re sure you’ll look great!
