Leather Boots
Every Respectable Guy Should Have a Nice Leather Boot

Source: HELM Boots

Face it, you’re not a kid anymore. And that’s actually a very good thing. It means you are in charge of your own destiny, your own choices that bring you to your destiny, and your freedom. However, it also means that those around you — your boss, your girlfriend, your wife, your clients, and your friends — will hold you accountable for the image that you present to them and to the world. One way to communicate your desire for success in both your career and your personal life is through the way you dress.

Making an impact is easy when you have the right pieces at your disposal, and one of the pieces every respectable guy should own is a pair of leather boots.

Choosing Men’s Leather Boots

Choosing a leather boot depends a lot on what you normally wear and what kind of image you want to project. If you’re an outdoorsy guy who can usually be found in a pair of jeans, opt for a short boot with a nice thick heel. If you’re a little bit more urbane, you can choose a boot that hits mid-calf, and into which you can tuck or roll your trousers for a look that’s a bit rebellious as well as sophisticated. And, in case you are a very, very adventurous man indeed, it’s always advisable to wear a tall, shiny boot with a statement suit jacket.

No matter which kind of boot you choose, make sure you take some time to see what will fit best with what you currently have in your closet. And, as mom always said, it never hurts to compare when you shop!

Boxers or Briefs
The Eternal Question: Boxers or Briefs

Boxers or Briefs; Image source: dwmagazine.com

Boxers or briefs? The question doesn’t exist only for the entertaining purpose of discerning the underwear preferences of the rich, famous, and influential. Some men swear by one, some by the other, and other guys are fine switching between the two. No matter what, there are definite advantages and disadvantages between the two. So, which should you wear – boxers or briefs, and should you consider switching?

Boxers
Pros: generally accepted to be the more comfortable and less formal option between the two — so much so, in fact, that you can go ahead and wear them around the house on lazy Sundays. They also come in a wider variety of materials, colors, and patterns than briefs, which need to be more flexible and form-fitting. Ideal for men who aren’t hitting the gym on a regular basis.
Cons: boxers tend to look bunchy under more formal trousers and slacks, and can be uncomfortable in jeans. They also offer less support than briefs.

Briefs
Pros: briefs streamline your look and keep everything in place comfortably without bunching or riding up. They look great on men who are in great shape. Briefs are a classic and more sophisticated alternative to boxers, and serve as the underwear preference of choice among European men.
Cons: briefs don’t come in as many colors or styles as boxers do. They also tend to lose their shape after several washes and might not last as long as a good set of boxers.

Socks: An Open Letter to Men

Triple Fashion Crime: White Socks, Black Pants, Leather Shoes; Image source: effortlessgent.com

Socks are one of the small style details that can trip up even the most stylish of men (and, to be fair, women). Don’t let this happen to you. Here are some guidelines from Sivani for clearing up the ever-present debacles surrounding socks.

Please don’t wear socks with sandals.
Or any shoe with any amount of open toe. Unless, of course, you want to look like you’re completely clueless about fashion. Seriously, there is nothing ironic or funny or endearing about this. It is a fashion crime of the highest order.

When is it okay not to wear socks?
As we’ve said, it’s all right (and encouraged, and actually mandatory) not to wear socks with sandals. It’s also all right after Memorial Day if you’re wearing loafers, boat shoes or the like.

Heaven help you if you wear gym socks to work.
Yes, even if they’re black gym socks. The streamlined look of a suit can be completely broken up by chunky socks peeking out from below the hem of your trousers. Unless you’re in an incredibly informal or creative work environment, stick to dark, thin dress socks.

Unless you opt for a pattern, socks should match your pants, not your shoes.
First part of this rule is self-explanatory, and helps your outfit to flow visually. However, a big trend in men’s accessories for fall 2012 is to opt for socks with patterns. Feel free to choose a sock in subdued colors with bright patterns, or try an argyle sock.

In general, make sure your socks are long enough so that if you need to cross your leg over your knee your skin doesn’t show. Also (and we hope this goes without saying) please make sure that your socks match each other.

stryker

From motorcycles to jewelry Its a mans worldA lot of people would say that there is a possibility that a piece of jewelry would make a man look feminine.

I would think twice before I make a statement like this one. The most masculine men are the men I see on motorcycles, the men covered in black leather, leather boots, rugged pair of jeans, and lets not forget – bands of leather bracelets and thick silver chains… You get the picture.

Motorcycles give you the sense of fearless power, unstoppable movement, and freedom.

As Yamaha describes the 2012 Stryker model – “with its raked out front end and “fists in the wind” riding position, this bike is pure attitude”.

The man in power is the man who knows how to calm down the beast, show some attitude, and look sexy while doing it. A man like this one knows how to show off not only by the style of bike he picks but also by the style of jewelry he wears while riding it – simple yet bold, earthy yet modern, minimalistic…and always ment to make a statement.

Braided Leather Bracelet

The mens jewelry revolutionSome would argue, that jewelry is designed for women in mind… not for men. I tend to disagree with that.

Although, I have my women’s jewelry line, I have the passion for creating masculine statement pieces for men. I get inspired every day by the look of my husband – by his simple yet elegant style, by the surgical precision in putting together his outfit.

Most men care about their looks more than women do. But their secret of looking at their best is not how much stuff they put on but how little. No man with style overdoes it to achieve perfection. There is a purpose for every little detail – there is a reason behind choosing every accessory.

A man with style can appreciate the simplicity of the accessories he picks because he has the confidence that it is him who is the star and the accessories are just there to stress that confidence.

To solute that confident man, I am designing a new line of men’s jewelry that bears simple but effective sterling silver details combined with the bold and luxurious look of genuine leather and gemstones.
